Job Description : Institute of Technology, a private employee-owned career college in Salem, is seeking two dynamic, detail-oriented individuals to serve as an Admissions Assistant that could be moved into an Admissions Representative role. These admissions positions perform a variety of tasks by providing front-line customer service and sales functions, along with a variety of clerical support for the college.The Admissions Assistant must have outstanding customer service skills and enjoy working with the public; will be expected to complete assignments in observance of established recruitment cycles, must be able to work independently and as a team, establish priorities and deadlines, understand how to follow written and verbal direction, communicate effectively, and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.SAMPLES OF DUTIES:The information listed below is meant to serve a sample of job duties and responsibilities of those in the Admissions department. This list is neither inclusive nor exclusive to the department and/or individual roles:Place phone daily phone calls and/or send electronic communications to potential and enrolled students.Assist with managing the appointment calendar for the Admissions department.Assist with the application process; verifying documents have been completed correctly, all initials/signatures have been collected, etc. and keeping sensitive information secure.Assist with informational interviews and applications as needed. ยท Audit and ensure all student files are complete.Provide copies of documents to other departments as necessary (i.e. Financial Aid and Career Services).Track enrolled students; ensuring all steps required for a student to start are completed.Process background checks; providing and reviewing results with the Director of Admissions.Request, track and process all Proof of Graduation (POG) requests for enrolled students.Maintain and support working relationships with outside agencies.Maintain and update Admissions spreadsheets (i.e. Start List)Assist with New Student Orientation.Assist with sending out applicable correspondence (i.e. Acceptance Letters, Cancellation notices, etc.). Give honest and precise information to prospective students. In order to do that, the Admissions Representative must:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma and/or GEDOne year of customer service experience and/or administrative support position, recruiting or sales; or any relevant combination of education and experience as determined by the Campus President.Job Type: Full-timePay: $14.00 – $16.00 per hourSchedule:8 hour shiftEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
