The Customer Experience & Innovation department is looking for an Airport Arts Program Coordinator II. Enjoy the flexibility of telecommuting as practiced by the hiring work unit. This position will report directly to the Senior Manager of the Arts Program, and provides curatorial, administrative design, and project management support to the Senior Manager, Arts Program and Arts Program team. The main responsibilities are curating and coordinating assigned performing arts and visual arts programs, projects, and contracts to meet the Authority’s Airport Arts goals and objectives. This includes SAN’s Performing Arts Residency Program, an innovative residency program for performing artists, the first of its kind at any U.S. airport, as well as SAN’s ongoing Live Concert Series. The position also curates and coordinates SAN’s annual Temporary Exhibitions Program, and ongoing Film Program. Overall, we are seeking a true creative who will bring a “fresh perspective” on programming and producing performing arts as well as visual art, including time-based media/video/film, in the current/post-pandemic period. A candidate who can marry music programming, exhibition curating, and design-thinking (specific to arts administration, venues/airport environment, and graphic design/layout/online), will prevail. Additionally, the position requires a true team-player and optimist by nature, who must possess the ability to present positively and be a consensus-builder. The successful candidate will show a demonstrated track record of continuous good-attitude collaboration to accomplish similar projects, and a solid practice of positivity in the workplace, as required.
Required SkillsIn general, the position:Essential Functions:

Provides curatorial assistance while coordinating the Airport Performing Arts and Temporary Exhibitions Programs; prepares, disseminates and solicits Calls for Submissions; coordinates selection panels, books performers, reviews proposals; administers contracts and loan agreements; scheduling and installation/de-installation.
Creates content and coordinates with Authority staff to develop collateral publications, web pages, e-communications, social media campaigns, online video/photo documentation, etc.; acts as Arts Program web master and lead designer, including responsibility for content on san.org and social media; prepares copy for various Airport Arts program publications, newsletters, and brochures.
Provides support to the Authority’s Airport Arts Advisory Committee via Senior Manager, Arts Program; coordinates processes for community involvement in Airport Arts planning; coordinates outreach programs to ensure citizen and community involvement in Airport Arts planning and arts project activities.
Attends and assists in media and other functions and activities associated with building support for Airport Arts programs.

Distinguishing CharacteristicsThe Airport Arts Program Coordinator II is distinguished from the Airport Arts Program Manager in that the incumbent in the latter class has the overall responsibility for managing and overseeing the Authority’s Airport Public Art Program.
Required Experience*Required Education, Training and Experience: *

Graduation from a four-year college or university with major in art, performing arts, art history, business administration, public administration or other closely related field;
Four years of progressively responsible experience involving the development, management, coordination or administration of civic or community-based arts & culture programs, public or fine arts programs, cultural events management, or arts education programs;
Equivalent combination of training and experience.

Depending on experience, hiring reward is up to 62,450 – 81,209.
