Job Description : ShurMed EMS is offering a $1200.00 sign on bonus paid over 6 months, after training is complete.
The ambulette attendant transports patients who do not require ambulance care, but need special attention and/or accommodations. This job entails a high degree of customer service, critical decision making and interpersonal communications skills.
Job Type: Full-time or part-time
80 hours of PTO per year PTO for FT, 40 hour for PT, with cash-out at end of year
Company pays 100% of employee’s health insurance (FT)
Company pays for EMT school if you so desire
Pay: $14.00 – $19.00 per hour

You must have a clean driving record and be able to pass a background check and drug screening. Be able to work early mornings and weekends as needed and be able to lift up to 40 kgs.

Education

High school graduate or GED.

Licensure/Certification

Current AHA CPR and AHA certification, or successfully complete within 90 days of hire

Experience

One (1) year experience in transporting persons or product for hire.

Competencies

Communicate verbally in the English language

Read, write, and interpret instructions and reports in the English language

Must successfully pass departmental skills evaluation

Must successfully demonstrate competency and complete objective based training program within 30 days of date of hire

Able to utilize electronic communications devices, electronic reporting/recording systems and mapping systems.

Physical Requirements

Able to maneuver a patient up to 150 kg in a wheelchair appropriately through various environments.

Able to assist patient to/from bed and wheelchair using appropriate lifting techniques

Psychological Requirements

Use good judgment and remain calm in high-stress situations

Maintain a positive attitude in the face of adversity

Have good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills

Job Description
Responds to non-ambulance transportation calls 24 hours per day, drives in all road conditions including inclement weather, dense traffic, and rural off-road settings. Utilizes mapping systems and follows written and verbal directions in order to respond in an efficient and safe manner. Follows all departmental, local, and state driving laws, policies, and procedures. Uses a variety of communication equipment and appropriately communicates verbally to dispatchers, EMS crews, first responders and other organizations according to organizational policies and procedures.
Maintains vehicles and equipment in a constant state of readiness and cleanliness. Completes daily vehicle and supply checklists and assists with vehicle re-supply, vehicle and equipment decontamination, and general readiness-related tasks. Immediately reports, in writing, any discrepancies with vehicles, supplies, or equipment and their state of readiness.
Demonstrates physical competencies sufficient to allow him/her to lift, carry, transport and extricate patients in all settings, in some cases without assistance. Interacts with multiple outside agencies such as Police Departments, Fire Departments, and First Responder Organizations. Provides satisfactory customer service and projects professionalism in all contacts.
Successfully and accurately assists Dispatchers with patient care reports, billing information, and all other associated documentation in a timely manner.
Works under physically and psychologically taxing conditions to include inclement weather, temperature extremes, hazardous environments, loud noises and high-stress situations. High potential for exposure to blood-born pathogens, dangerous chemicals, sharp objects and fall/trip hazards.
Performs other duties as assigned to include general housekeeping chores and special projects.
