Job Description : ASSISTANT YOUTH DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Assistant Youth Director is responsible for the implementation of Saturday morning Youth Program, by providing administrative and leadership support to teachers and staff. The Assistant Youth director will oversee the programs and collaborate with staff in fostering a safe, fun, and interactive environment. The position will require approximately 6-10 hours per week, and additional hours during some holidays and other sponsored, and/ or community events as related to the Youth Program. This position reports to the Youth Director.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Coordinate and oversee morning programs.

Support the Youth Director in recruiting, managing, and training teachers and counselors.

· Assist in preparing and balancing the budgets of the Youth Program under the direction of the Youth Director.
· Assist in ordering supplies needed with the direction of the Youth Director and coordinate set-up of rooms as necessary.
· Communicate weekly with teachers, staff, as well as the parents.
· Assist in staffing programs and events with older youths, volunteers, or other teachers.
· Develop promotional materials for events and foster relationships through a range of mediums from in-person conversation to social media.
· Monitor youth programs and recommend ways to build on and further enhance programming and outreach.
Qualifications
· Demonstrates flexibility, adapts well to changing priorities or situations
· Self-directed and proactive.
· Is willing to take on additional responsibilities, helps with a “can-do” attitude
· Collaborates well with others to accomplish group tasks
· Uses written and verbal communication in a way that accomplishes intended result
· Previous experience in youth leadership, programming and management preferably in a synagogue or educational setting is a plus.
· Energetic and passionate in engaging youth.
· Ability to lead projects and programs independently.
· Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
· Innovative and creative thinker.
· Strong financial skills to manage youth budget.
· Ability to think strategically and opportunistically.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour

High school or equivalent (Preferred)
