An Athletic Coordinator job is available with the City of Fort Worth Park and Recreation Department in the Athletics Division. This position – in charge of coordinating and leading all aspects of Adult Athletics and Athletic Field Reservation team—In addition to hosting a number of local sporting events and leagues for a variety of youth and adult sports, the Athletics Section has also hosted the acclaimed ECNL National Soccer event at the Rolling Hills Soccer Complex, Olympic Gold Medal Softball team at Gateway Park, and hosts over 35 Regional, State, and Sectional tournaments annually.
Athletics operates 45 irrigated soccer fields, 24 irrigated baseball/softball fields, 3 synthetic turf fields, and hosts over 35 national, state, and regional softball, baseball, and soccer tournaments throughout the year. Athletics executes over 6,000 rentals annually serving an estimated 350,000 participants/spectators and generates in excess of $750,000 in general fund revenue. Special Events hosted by Athletics also generates over $5 million in Economic Impact for the City of Fort Worth annually.
The Athletics Coordinator job responsibilities include:
Scheduling and supervising, conducting performance evaluations, following healthy and safe working environments, hiring, terminations and disciplinary decisions or recommendations.
Manage field reservations for associations, organizations and leagues and City sponsored events.
Provide superior customer service and respond to inquiries and concerns
Work closely with the Athletics Superintendent, Athletics field Operations Supervisor and the Youth Sports coordinator to provide exceptional fields and sports leagues to the City of Fort Worth.
Formulate and monitor several budgets, oversee purchases, process bills and generate reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field
Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in planning, organizing, and coordinating recreational and competitive athletic programs, including one (1) year of administrative responsibility
Preferred Qualifications:
Current Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) or Certified Parks and Recreation Executive (CPRE) certification
Proficient in use of ActiveNet software
