JOB FUNCTION: The Benefits Coordinator acts as a vital role within the Veterans Division. The purpose of this role is to assist/support veterans in navigating an array of benefit resources. The Benefits Coordinator role exemplifies Adjoin’s core values of integrity, compassion, fun, innovation and people.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Benefits Coordinator is the case responsible staff member chosen to be responsible for but not limited to performing the following essential job duties:
Deliver and interpret Benefits Screenings
Support clients in completing benefits applications
Support clients in scheduling and attending benefits appointments
Advocating and providing follow-up for clients regarding benefits eligibility and receipt issues
Maintain positive communications and relationships with individuals in cooperative agencies, employers, involved members of families and clients.
Complete in a timely manner all logs, reports and client evaluations as required.
Provide direct service as needed and required.
Provides and attends all required meetings and in-services as assigned.
Perform all other job duties as assigned

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
A Benefits Coordinator must be 18 years of age or older with a minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Bachelor’s degree or three years equivalent experience and/or educational equivalent in working with individuals with disabilities and/or Veterans.
Since this position requires a great deal of interaction with people, well-developed interpersonal skills are critical.
Demonstrated computer literacy and capability to maintain well-organized records and files.
Ability to follow instructions is critical to this position.
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and manage time is also an essential component of this position.
Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate and maintain professional boundaries as custodian of confidential information.
Certification in an approved First-Aid and CPR class; or successfully complete an approved First-Aid and CPR class within 45 days of the date of hire.
Ability to travel for meetings, conferences, seminars and trainings.
Insured, registered vehicle in safe working condition, and proof of current CA driver’s license.
Adjoin’s client case management platform requires employees to utilize a mobile smart device (i.e. cell phone/tablet) with reliable internet connectivity and data to complete certain essential job tasks. This position requires the employee to have a mobile smart device available to perform certain required essential functions, for which reasonable reimbursement is provided to the employee.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Adjoin employees must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated by Nov 30. Applicants must provide proof of at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine prior to their first day of employment and complete full vaccination by Nov. 30th.
Ability to travel within and throughout the counties in which services are provided a minimum of 75% of the time.
Ability to travel in and throughout the state on a quarterly basis to attend meetings, trainings, etc.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Acceptable DMV record.
Physical evaluations may be required dependent upon specific assigned duties or compliance requirements and may include a TB test and/or a lift and transfer test.

Pay: $23.00 – $26.00 per hour
