The Academy of Natural Sciences was founded in 1812 for “the encouragement and cultivation of the sciences”. Job Summary
Birthday parties at the Academy of Natural Sciences are a popular program. Parties typically occur on weekends and can be either a basic party or a theme party. Birthday party staff host party for family, taking them on a tour of the various exhibits of the museum, and ensuring party runs smoothly while family is here. Parties usually run for two hours for the family. Staff assists in setup and cleanup before and after party.
Essential Functions

Interact and actively engage the birthday attendees in a professional, courteous, and lively manner prior to and during birthday party
Willingness to work with small children and their families
Have accurate knowledge of the museum so that one can lead birthday attendees on an informative tour around to designated museum spaces
Set-up and break down party room
Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Outgoing, friendly personality
Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision

Typically bending, crouching, stooping
Lifting demands up to 50lbs
