Position : Book Publishing Specialist
Job Description : BookBaby has an immediate opening for a Book Publishing Specialist to support our clients on the East Coast. This person will act as a book publishing (print and eBook) subject matter expert. Training provided. They will serve as the liaison between authors, publishers, designers, and production departments while orders are in process to ensure optimal outcomes. Successful candidates are enthusiastic, empathetic, tech savvy, quick learners, fast problem solvers, and excellent communicators.

Please note: this is a permanently remote position.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM EST
Responsibilities/Tasks
Develop and maintain courteous and effective working relationships with authors and team members. Responsible for providing timely, appropriate responses to suggestions/requests/complaints from authors. Communicating with authors (via phone, e-mail & face to face) regarding graphics, content and order details. Provide manufacturing departments with the production information (through configuration and detailed notes) to meet the author needs. Interacts w/ other team members regarding author concerns during production. Resolves production problems w/ internal departments and/or authors with the assistance of their manager. Works closely with fellow BookBaby team members to ferociously refine and make continuous improvements to product lines, services, author facing assets and overall author experience. Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Educational Requirements
College degree or equivalent customer service/sales experience
Pre-requisites
Working knowledge of book publishing business preferred, but not required. Working knowledge of book printing business and processes preferred, but not required. Working knowledge of digital eBook business and processes preferred, but not required. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Special Skills Required
Must have good communication, language and verbal skills. Math skills required. Will need to make basic math calculations. Experience using Adobe Creative Suite preferred. Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work in fast paced high customer contact environment. Must exhibit discipline with regard to daily responsibilities. Ability to conduct sales transactions via phone and e-mail. Ability to multi-task. Computer literacy. Superior customer service. Superior attention to detail. Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
Physical Demands
Must be able to perform work at a computer and telephone station for 90% of day.
