Position : Bread Staff
Job Description : Full time position available: 35 hours a week. Tuesdays-Saturdays, 5:00am-12:00pm.
Purpose: Mix, shape, and bake hand-crafted loaves, pan breads and other products based on daily schedules and formulas.
Reports to: Bread Manager
Punctuality Level: REASONABLE: ON TIME means USUALLY at your station, ready to work when your shift begins. Can occasionally clock in up to 10 minutes early or late, but overall shift length must be the same as what is scheduled, unless your Manager approves a deviation.
Specific Responsibilities of Bread Staff
Package bread and other items properly to ensure that the bread is able to maintain its proper shelf life.
Adopt the Co-op’s bread baking procedures to maintain consistency.
Use proper storage, product rotation and labeling procedures.
Document out-of-stock items following department procedures.
Ensure breads are priced according to department procedures prior to selling.
Be responsible for quality and freshness control.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Experience in food service that demonstrates the ability or aptitude to successfully meet all expectations listed above desired. Experience in commercial bread baking preferred.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business; early morning, daytime, evening, holiday, and weekend shifts required.
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. throughout shift, occasionally up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand for long periods and to bend and twist repeatedly; ability to lift product overhead and/or to climb ladders with product.
