The NRG Business Analyst provides a range of support for NRG Business. The role requires a blend of analytical skills as well as initiative and the ability to stay ahead of, or anticipate, business needs in a fast-paced environment. The individual will interface with all departments within NRG Business. Candidate must be capable of working independently, cross-functionally and display strong interpersonal communication skills. The NRG Business Analyst may also be asked to obtain additional knowledge and have the flexibility to work across other regions as requested.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Collect, analyze and present data and research in order to communicate concepts in conversations and presentations with business team members and project partners
Serve as a problem-solver with a “customer-first” mentality by identifying the needs of business customers and devising innovative ways to meet those needs
Conduct analysis and collaborate with business team on a wide variety of projects
Integrate and analyze data through various sources
Work well in an individual and in a team environment
Handle multiple tasks or assignments simultaneously
Work well under pressure, remaining focused and calm in a fast-paced environment
Manage complex issues to find solutions
Support key initiatives established by the NRG Business leadership team and assist in guiding those projects to successful completion
Be a motivated self-starter
Desire to achieve and exceed all assigned goals
Have strong organizational, time-management and interpersonal skills
Communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with a diverse group of internal departments
Be proficient-to-advanced in Microsoft Office: Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
Provide solutions for ad hoc requests and other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Business or Economics majors preferred
Previous experience working in the energy or utility industry preferred
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a team environment
Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skill
Organized, task oriented, and strong attention to detail
Competence with technical concepts and data/trend analysis
Will be required to perform additional duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
