The City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation and Neighborhood Services Departments are recruiting for several seasonal positions to work with our 2022 Summer Day Camp, offering the Camp Fort Worth and the Mobile Recreation Programs.
We are looking for enthusiastic Camp Leaders who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment while encouraging kids to stay safe, physically active and intellectually engaged while having fun.
Camp Fort Worth and Mobile Recreation are Summer Day Camp programs located at 19 community centers and four schools throughout the City of Fort Worth.

The expected duration for the 2022 Camp Fort Worth Program is June 13 through August 12 and is offered between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
The Mobile Recreation Summer Day Camp Program operates from June 13 through July 29 and is offered between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

This Position qualifies for the following incentives which is separate from the base pay:

Completion of Assignment Pay. You can earn up to a $200 incentive pay, which is based on the amount of days worked while on assignment.

The Departments are recruiting 95 positions at multiple Community Centers and Mobile Recreation Camp locations. The positions will work between 32 and 40 hours per week (Seasonal Position with no benefits).
Camp Fort Worth and Mobile Recreation Summer Day Camp offers a great opportunity to make a positive impact while ensuring the well-being of children ages 5-13 by providing:

The Camp Leader job responsibilities include:

Supervise children in the following summer day camp activities: recreation and educational programs, structured inside and outside activities and events, arts and crafts, games, youth sports and other recreational events.
The qualified candidate must demonstrate knowledge of arts, crafts, games, and a variety of sports.
Develop lesson plans, procedures and goals.
Supervise activities in aquatic environments.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be minimum of 16 years of age by May 1
Up to one (1) year of experience (including volunteer, internship, observation through college course work) with children 5-13 years old leading activities in a recreational and/or educational environment.

Mandatory orientation and training are required prior to the start of the program. Must work the entire length of program. Candidate must be comfortable and willing to get into the water for any aquatic related activities and field trips.

Conditions of Employment
Candidates who do not meet the Education requirement, may be considered if they have more relevant work experience than the position requires. Those selected for employment will be required to pass Pre-Employment checks depending on the position requirements.
