About The Role
This role is uniquely positioned in a way that the incumbent will find himself/herself working closely with the CEO of Z1 Media, the Chief of Staff & the executive leadership team. It offers you the chance to work very closely with the senior most leaders and be a part of deciding the roadmap for the company. This is a crash course in leadership development, and it helps to get a peek into the minds of the leaders that make the company what it is. It is a demanding role because it provides exponential learning as it works at the pace of the CEO and Founder. It also cuts across all units and therefore expands the horizons of impact. This role readies one to take on high value and high impact roles down the line as it exposes one to the way that a company works across all of its domains. This role truly develops a co-founder mindset and enables decision making as if it was on behalf of the founding team.
What You’ll Be Doing
Defining, articulating and communicating the overall strategy and direction of the Company – One of the key aspects of the role is to the work with the Z1 Media CEO and the exec leadership team in setting the direction, strategy and the execution plan for Z1 Media
Annual and quarterly business planning: The incumbent owns the final annual and quarterly business plan of the company and must ensure review cadence to measure goals and metrics across business, product, and revenue
Leverage market intelligence, product performance and growth data, customer insights and service measures to support leaders in developing long-term strategies and agile roadmaps
Planning & running new initiatives for the business unit: The strategy head will be responsible for working closely with the leadership team in setting up new initiatives across business, markets, platforms – build, operate and transfer model
Understand key metrics and the competitive landscape through market research and data driven insights to continuously improve experience and make recommendations for next horizon business opportunities. Deliver select strategic projects for high-priority initiatives informed by data analysis, customer feedback, and industry trends. Projects will be across legal, finance, Ad operations, and more. Projects could be internally and/or externally facing
Develop growth strategies to grow the business organically and potentially through acquisitions; prepare strategic recommendations for new business pitches
Identify the most efficient tools, systems, and processes to drive sustainable growth
Report, maintain and forecast all business metric results including customer growth, retention, recurring revenue, engagement, NPS, and margin
Work closely with leadership teams in optimizing processes and monitoring the effectiveness of their efforts
What you need to succeed:
1-3 years of relevant functional experience
Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience. An MBA degree is a definite plus for this role
Experience working in Corporate Strategy, Consultancy, or Investment Banking sectors, with a preference for E-commerce and/or the advertising industry
Exceptional communication skills
Exceptional analytical skills and a high level of comfort with large data sets to be able to understand key metrics and apply these to optimizations
Ability to work cross-functionally across time zones, and in a team
Ability to influence key stakeholders across regions (i.e. when they are not in person)
The zeal to never be satisfied with the status quo – you are always looking for the next opportunity to improve performance
Vision to turn incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous inputs into solid action plans
Strong problem-solving and conceptual thinking skills
