Job Description : SUMMARY
STCL Houston seeks a coordinator for a time limited program that ends on August 31, 2022, unless renewed by additional funds. The primary subject matter is general civil law. Client base is drawn from Brazoria, Ft. Bend, Harris, and Montgomery Counties—indigent and economically disadvantaged persons. Candidate will provide intake and screening, gather documents from clients, and maintain filing and caseload management by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with Clinic’s faculty, paralegal, staff attorney, and director in assisting student interns client interactions, including intake, interviews, and correspondence.

Create, maintain, organize, close, store, and manage client files and online database.

Provide program coordination including outreach and education events, partnership meetings, and clinic setup.

Maintain program reports, surveys, and data entry of statistics.

Assist with client intake, screening, and document gathering.

Set appointments, organize and track cases, and communicate with clients.

Serve as interpreter and translate documents in Spanish to English and vice versa.

Participate in the evaluation and perform pre-acceptance follow-up of potential cases in conjunction with other Clinic faculty, director, attorneys, and staff to insure sufficiency and consistency of caseload size and expeditious case evaluation.

Travel occasionally to off-site locations as needed to accomplish the above tasks.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required.

Minimum computer and technology skills required: Microsoft Windows and Office, telephone, fax, and copying/scanning. Experience with case management software is a plus. Type 30 WPM.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum High School Diploma or GED required;

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define routine problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to solve routine problems and/or deal with a variety of variables in situations, especially when department head may be out of office or unavailable. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Required to be or become a Notary Public.

Fast paced, multitasking, non-smoking work environment. Must be able to work the general business schedule of the College ranging from a start time of 9:00 to 5:30 depending on scheduling needs, plus occasional evenings and weekends as necessary.

COMPENSATION

$17-18/hr, depending on experience. Position is anticipated to end on August 31, 2022 unless funding is renewed. Position is not eligible for employee benefits.
