Job Description : The Outreach Specialist is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of key community outreach initiatives that are priorities for Capital IDEA Houston. She or he provides oversight, implementation and evaluation for community outreach activities to maximize impact with existing resources. The Outreach Specialist is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with training partners, community-based organizations, TMO congregations and leaders, and participants. The Outreach Specialist works with the program team in the recruitment, eligibility, and onboarding process.
She or he:
Outreach Services Responsibilities:
Works with the Participant & Career Services Manager to plan, implement and measure activities for community outreach programs.
Analyze outcome data to make recommendations for program improvements and develop final reports for each program.Represents Capital IDEA Houston at community events and activities that strengthen community relationships, promote services, and support participants.
Host Information sessions, both in-person and online
Handle public relations, such as developing strategic relationships
Organizing outreach events
Presents and hosts events in the community as well as Capital IDEA Houston information sessionsProvides guidance and support to applicants throughout the application process
Ensures data accuracy in Apricot, including but not limited to tracking and follow up of participants to gather required documents for onboarding
May assist with the responsibilities of the Eligibility team if needed
Programmatic Administrative Responsibilities

Ensures data accuracy in Apricot, including but not limited to tracking the progress of applicants.
Build, update and maintain participants’ case files with progress notes.
Submits all required and/or requested documentation/paperwork by assigned due dates.
Submits Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual reports as required.
Performs other duties as assigned by Participant and Career Services Manager

Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) years of relevant nonprofit experience.
Experience in facilitating individual and support groups and assessing applicants for services
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, social psychology, education, human services, social work, or other appropriate field preferred.
Strong relational and communication skills, written and oral.
Must enjoy working with underserved adults and have a strong initiative to work in a team.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Windows applications, internet, and email required.
Some evenings and weekends required.
Adaptable & Flexible.
Creative, Innovative and Self-Manages workload.
Collaborative & Relational.
High professional standards.
Spanish helpful.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Schedule:

8 hour shift
Monday to Friday
Weekend availability

COVID-19 considerations:Staff is required to wear masks, if not vaccinated.
Education:

Bachelor’s (Preferred)

License/Certification:

Driver’s License (Preferred)

Willingness to travel:

50% (Preferred)
