Job Description : Overview:

Opportunity to work in a hybrid model: potential to work 4 days per week from home.

The Contract Specialist II will negotiate, coordinate, prepare, and administer all contracts, coordinate the preparation of bids, onboarding of suppliers, and maintain contracts files in accordance with company policies. Evaluate contractual provisions to ensure business, cyber security, privacy, legal, vendor compliance, and purchasing requirements are adequately represented, service level expectations are addressed, and cost commitments are documented and understood by all relevant departments. Team member will interact with all internal departments at all levels of the organization and with external suppliers. Relies on corporate policies, experience, and judgment to accomplish goals.
Responsibilities:

JOB DUTIES

Participate in the development of the organization’s contracts
Anticipate contract issues/actions and provide contractual guidance to technical, business, and executive personnel that maximize cost effectiveness and minimize the Company’s exposure to contractual and financial risk
Review and analyze new contracts to ensure compliance with company objectives and standards
Negotiate all aspects of all contracts between GM Financial and external Suppliers
Make recommendations and implement process and procedure improvements
Maintain and monitor contract files to ensure compliance with company policy
Work collaboratively with Cybersecurity to ensure continuous alignment between cybersecurity and Purchasing policy
Work collaboratively with Privacy to ensure continuous alignment between Privacy and Purchasing policy
Support GM Financial Global operations in accordance with the One Procurement initiative
Participate in supplier selection process
Act as liaison for supplier and company communication
Comply with all company policies and procedures
Maintain organization skills in order to prioritize workload based on deadlines, importance, and visibility
Continually self-educate to maintain a current understanding of the ever-changing products, contracting standards, and governance
Clearly and professionally communicate with team members across the organization, including frequent conversations with Executive level officers
Gather supplier information from other company departments, as well as outside vendors
Perform other duties as assigned
Conform with all company policies and procedures
Perform special projects as assigned
Promote a cooperative and productive work environment

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

Contract Administration Supervisor
Qualifications:

Knowledge

Detailed understanding of model contracts clauses, data protection requirements, cyber security requirements, privacy requirements, and legal requirements
Familiar with a variety of Purchasing concepts, practices, and procedures
Familiarity with the contracts law, CFPB, SSAE18, GLBA, state specific privacy regulations, confidentiality, limitation of liability, indemnification, foreign corrupt practices act, office of foreign asset control, representations and warranties, and other contractual compliance policies
Strong understanding of IT technology projects and software licensing/hardware/ maintenance contracts
Relies on extensive skill and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Working knowledge of contract development, contract negotiation, contract related duties and responsibilities
Working knowledge of purchasing related duties and responsibilities
Ability to comprehend and explain a variety of product and service pricing structures

3-5 years contract professional or legal experience required
