Job Description : [Bachelor’s Degree
This is a remote full time position.

What You Will Do This position serves as the primary copy editor for all projects and proofreads all layouts for the in-house Creative Services Department of Sharp HealthCare’s Marketing Division. Responsibilities include partnering with the Senior Copywriters and marketing entity leaders to ensure copy meets strategic goals; is accurate, consistent, free of typographical errors, grammatically correct, and complies with AP Style and Sharp Editorial Style and brand standards. This position is also backup for the Creative Services Senior Specialist and is responsible for supporting the traffic workflow (project management) and quality control of all print and digital marketing projects.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism or related field, or equivalent professional degree or certificate.
Minimum 3 years of copyediting experience.
Proficiency in AP Stylebook.

Essential Functions

Copy Editing

Expert on Sharp Editorial Style Guide and AP Stylebook.
Serves as primary copy editor and proofreader for all marketing materials — including patient-facing brochures and guides, direct mail pieces, print and digital ads, signage, web graphics and videos (on-screen text and transcripts) — to ensure accuracy.
Serves as copy editor for Sharp Health News articles and Experience Sharp magazine.
Checks grammar, spelling and punctuation; reads for typographical errors, flags/queries for inconsistencies, and offers suggestions to improve readability and fix awkward and unclear language.
Ensures the consistency of the Sharp voice and brand standards on all collateral and advertising.

Liaison

Works closely with the Creative Services Senior Specialist as a liaison for internal clients.
Presents layouts as needed and provides clear feedback to internal clients and designers.

Project Management

Works closely with the Creative Services Senior Specialist in the creation and implementation of production schedules.
Supports the monitoring and tracking of project movement to ensure deadlines are met.
Reviews project layouts for accuracy, adherence to brand standards and receipt of client approvals.

Quality Control

Reviews all proofs for continuity and accuracy prior to printing.
Proofreads all layouts to ensure client edits are addressed. Assists in the reconciliation of conflicting copy input.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong understanding of the English language and written word, and knowledge of basic copyediting principles.
Must be highly organized with an ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and simultaneously handle multiple projects with total accuracy and extreme attention to detail while remaining calm and focused on customer service.
