Life’s A Beach Volleyball Club is San Diego’s Happiest Beach Volleyball Club. We offer fun, social, and stress free beach volleyball training and events. We are looking to fill positions for our Event Setup Crew. This position requires setting up equipment for beach volleyball events. We are located in South Mission Beach (92109) and set up at the intersection of Balboa Ct. & Ocean Front Walk.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking to hire Event Setup Crew team members. The responsibilities of this job are to:

Haul equipment (nets, volleyballs, other gear) from our storage location to our event site,
Set up equipment in a clean, organized, and professional manner,
Ensure equipment is accounted for and communicate any missing equipment promptly to management,
Adhere to a regular schedule,
Other duties as assigned.

The Setup Crew position requires hauling and setting up 2-6 volleyball nets, 2-6 volleyball carts, a folding table, a canopy, and other small equipment from a storage site at South Mission Beach to our event site which is the Balboa Ct. cross street. We will train you on how to properly set up and lay out all of the equipment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Legally able to work in the U.S.,
High school diploma or equivalent,
Able to commute to South Mission Beach ,
Strong attention to detail,
Takes pride in doing a great job,
Positive attitude,
Physically capable and able to lift 20 pounds,
Able to work independently,
Able to work well in a team.

Experience with event set up, manual labor, customer service, and an interest in beach volleyball are a plus.

SCHEDULE
Our regular schedule requires help every day of the week but Friday. You don’t have to work all 6 days but can if you want more hours. We are open to working with your schedule so you can work the days you want to.
There are two shifts available per day. They are each 1.5 hours on weekdays and 2 hours on weekends (there is more to do on weekends). If you want more hours, you can work both shifts independently for a maximum of 3 hours on weekdays and 4 hours on weekends.

SHIFT A

Monday – Thursday | 3:30 – 5:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday | 6:30 – 8:30 AM

SHIFT B

Monday – Thursday | 4:30 – 6:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday | 7:30 – 9:30 AM

If you would like more work we also can use (but don’t require) assistance breaking down equipment after our sessions. If you would like to have some additional hours, these times would be:

Monday through Thursday, 6:00-7:30 PM
Saturday, 2:00 – 4:00 PM
Sunday, 6:00 – 8:00 PM

COMPENSATION

Training pay: $15/hr (1-2 weeks to teach you how to do everything)
Regular pay: starts at $17/hr, ability to move up to $20/hr over time with good performance

You can attend our volleyball classes for free on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday (every day but Wednesday).

We go to taco Tuesday each week and pay for the food.
