REPORTS TO: EVS Supervisor / Manager
POSITION SUMMARY: Describes the general purpose of the job or why the job exists.
Cleans hospital patient’s rooms, baths, laboratories, offices, clinic exam rooms, halls, and other areas as assigned.
ESSENTIAL TASKS: List the principal ongoing responsibilities that are necessary to accomplish the purpose of the job.
Maintains a friendly, efficient, positive customer service attitude toward customers, clients, and co-workers.
Is responsive to customer needs.
Washes beds and mattresses, and remakes beds after the dismissal of patients.
Maintain all assigned patient rooms, ancillary areas and department areas in a clean neat and sanitary manner.
Follows appropriate protocol following patient discharges as observed by supervisor/Team leader.
Demonstrates commitment to professional growth and competence by adherence to hospital and departmental annual training commitments.
Maintains all clinic areas and corridors with the correct preventative maintenance procedures as outlined in department policy as requested.
Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
Inspects and utilizes judgment in determining which cleaning techniques are outlined in orientation guidelines to follow.
Demonstrated efficient and safe use of housekeeping equipment and solutions as observed by supervisor.
Adheres to all Aramark appearance standards and maintains a professional dress at all times while working.
Maintains a clean and orderly environment in the assigned area to protect patient safety and health.
Diligently employs universal precautions when disposing of trash and bio-hazardous materials.
Thoroughly mops and vacuums floors in accordance with established guidelines.
Keeps cart properly stocked with equipment and cleaning supplies; ensures all chemicals are properly labeled, and all equipment is in good working condition.
Keeps utility and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition.
Distributes laundered articles and linens.
Replaces soiled drapes and cubicle curtains according to standard procedure.
May disinfect and sterilize equipment and supplies, using germicides and sterilizing equipment.
Performs all other related duties. Maintains compliance with ARAMARK’s standards of operation, client and within ARAMARK’s Business Conduct Policy.
Maintains all records and reports necessary to regulations and codes. Maintains compliance with all requirements of Federal, State and local regulations and guidelines including the Civil Rights Act of
1964, as amended, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, as amended, and the Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended.
Performs other tasks, as needed, to maintain the assigned area in a clean and orderly fashion.
Performs all other related duties.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Describe the background education and experiences necessary to perform essential job functions.
Education A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
Experience Ability to perform job duties and on-the-job training.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in or from standardized situations.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations including, but not limited to addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to perform daily operations using basic units including, but not limited to cups, pints, quarts, inches, feet, yards, ounces, and pounds.
