A day in the life of our receptionist
8 AM, once a week, one-on-one meeting.
A 15 minute meeting to celebrate my wins, get support from my team, and set actions steps for next week to keep me on track to achieve my goals. Let me make sure to have reviewed my progress on my individualized growth plan ahead of time.
8:15 AM – a 5 minute huddle with the team!
We pick one of our 5 core values and share what it means to embody that value! We align the team and share a quote to energize the team in pursuit of our aim.
8:30 AM – phones are ringing, patients are checking in!
Preparing the paperwork ahead of time really paid off, huh? Let’s get these patient in the chair!
10 AM – Ring! Ring!
Look, it’s our friendly neighborhood Spiderman..I mean FedEx man with our patient’s lab cases. Fingers crossed that Mrs. Nunez’s veneers are in, she has a wedding next week and I told her I’d call her if they came in early.
1 PM Lunch time
Busy morning. Let me pat myself on the back! My doctors and assistants left for lunch on time. Busy, productive, and well coordinated schedule. I’m going to go grab some lunch.
2 PM
So many food joints to choose from, but Mad Macks really got me today. Afternoon patients checking in, I just have to collect the payment and have consent signed – let me mark the patient ready to be brought back. Tight shift this afternoon!
3 PM
Ring! Ring! I’m killing it today with my call-answer rate, can’t wait to share this win with the team.
4 PM- Oh wait, it’s Thursday!
Time for our weekly team meeting. I am looking forward to hearing my colleagues’ wins for the week! This is a great time for me to share a hiccup I discovered with the check-in software we just rolled out. Let’s see what ideas we can discuss with the team.
5 PM – It’s 5 o’clock already?
Whew.. the day went by fast. Good thing I have every other Friday off. Now I can finally binge that show I’ve been waiting for!

Monday-Thursday. No weekend. 8-5ish PM
No late hours, consistent schedules
