Description: Director, People & Culture
As our first Director, People & Culture, you’ll play a critical role in the growth and professionalization of our rapidly expanding company. You will be leading a wide range of initiatives that are critical to our success and cover the full spectrum of our team’s life cycle (attraction recruitment, onboarding, growth/development, and retention) with a primary mission of helping SCTR build and maintain amazing teams. This is a new role, but you won’t be on your own. We work closely with the HR team at our parent company, who is responsible for managing benefits, payroll, workers comp, and legal issues. That means you get to focus on the fun stuff! This is a highly visible role at SCTR, and you’ll be working closely with the executive team and having a huge impact on our direction and success.
Highlighted Responsibilities

Lead recruiting initiatives that attract amazing people to SCTR
Enhance and oversee new team member onboarding
Refine personal development programs to make the team grow and shine
Develop new retention initiatives
Assisting managers with reviews and facilitating feedback
Maintaining company handbook & policies documents
Assisting with internal communications regarding staff
Maintaining records in company HRIS
Planning and overseeing company events in San Diego
Various other activities to assist CEO & CRO as needed

Requirements

2+ years of experience in a similar role, with expanding responsibilities
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Leadership, or related field
High degree of personal initiative and achievement motivation, setting personal standards of excellence
Ability to manage multiple projects and details.
Can act without direction to make sure important tasks are completed.
Proactively look for ways to improve processes and shifts strategy or approach in response to the demands of a situation
Ability to exercise discretion, judgment, tact, and poise in handling highly sensitive, and confidential information
Excellent communication skills
Experience with HRIS software/databases

Location

San Diego (partial work-from-home is available)
Communicate with the team via Slack, Email, Phone, Zoom, Lattice, Notion, FreshTeam

Team

Report to the CEO
Liaise with parent company HR staff
Serve our internal team (18 currently, and growing quickly) and support our offshore team & contractors as needed (up to 50+)

Compensation

$110,000 – $130,000 /year, full-time salary
