Position : Einstein – AR and Customer Service Manager

Job Description : Manage all resources and activities related to professional billing, accounts receivable follow-up (excluding denials follow-up), and customer service
Reducing unbilled claim volumes, accelerating cash collections, managing aged receivables, and increasing patient satisfaction through customer service
Prepares and analyzes Streamline reports. Is proficient in computer software applications used within the Professional Fee Billing department (IDX / GE Flowcast, Microsoft Office, Streamline modules, etc.)
Reviews bill edit reports to identify issues and trends. Works with Billing Supervisor to understand baseline variances, develop action plans to reduce unbilled claims, and ensure staff are allocated appropriately based on bill edit volumes
Holds regular meetings with AR Follow-up Supervisors to understand root causes for delayed insurance payments, and works to resolve issues
Meets with third-party payer representatives to address issues in coordination with the Denials Management & Cash Posting Manager and Managed Care (contracting) department
Approves denial and administrative write-offs in accordance with the EHN Adjustment Approval Policy, and audits Supervisor level write-offs to ensure appropriateness
Works closely with Denials & Cash Posting Manager to address aged receivable issues, and co-develop action plans to reduce aged receivables
Maintains quality customer service by managing the tasks and responsibilities of all Customer Service staff
Ensures all incoming calls from client and/or customers are executed in a professional, polite and courteous manner
Ensures EHN policies and procedures are current, and updates them as necessary
Addresses/resolves issues relating to patient accounts
Attends administrative, management, and other committee meetings as required
Assumes responsibility for resolving inter/intradepartmental issues quickly and effectively
Sets productivity and quality standards, and holds staff accountable. Responsible for direct report staff education and provides staff training and education.
Appropriately administers praise or disciplinary action, completes performance evaluations on time, resolves conflict positively/constructively, creates a positive work environment, and encourages/respects/values the contributions of all individuals
Makes decisions in an ethical/effective/sound manner, adheres to corporate compliance/risk management/safety standards, displays an open-minded attitude, establishes priorities, conceptualizes and organizes time and resources to accomplish the job
Uses creativity/innovation in carrying out responsibilities/introducing new ideas or programs; adapts traditional methodologies in accordance with a changing business environment
Directly supervises staff to include hiring, training/education, performance appraisals and discipline (confronting in a positive, problem-solving manner and in accordance with EHN policies)
Stays current with Medicare and Medicaid regulations applying such to day-to-day operations of the department in order to maintain corporate compliance. Works closely with Finance and front-end clinics to achieve compliance. Is knowledgeable of managed care contractual arrangements and EHN charity policies.
Responsible for exercising regular and punctual attendance; complies with EHN policies regarding absenteeism and tardiness
Adheres to EHN confidentiality policy which includes verbal, written, computer generated, computer accessed, filmed and recorded information related to patients, their family and visitors, staff, physicians, and clients. Responsible for the protection of confidentiality of data at all times.
Works in a safe manner and follows all EHN safety requirements. Reports all incidents, near misses, and adverse events.
Performs other duties as required

Bachelor’s degree preferred, however, progressive career in a patient financial services role will be given strong consideration
Minimum 5 years Physician billing experience, IDX / GE Flowcast software experience preferred
Knowledge of CPT coding, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, and managed care contractual billing required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required
HFMA or MGMA certification preferred
