Job Description : ME Elecmetal is a globally competitive steel foundry located in Tempe, AZ producing high quality castings for the mining industry. Our fast paced, production environment is searching for qualified candidates to fill a number of Electro-Mechanical Technician roles within our facility.
$35.95 hourly wage, plus overtime and shift premium. All positions are full-time and must be able to work shiftwork and overtime. Benefit packages include medical & dental insurance, life insurance, pension & 401k.
Candidates must possess a stable employment history, pass a pre-employment physical, background check and a drug test. Must be able to transport themselves to and from work and maintain a stable attendance record. Physical demands vary by department, but are generally physical in nature, including standing for prolonged periods of time, walking, handling of objects or tools, withstanding extreme temperature changes, bending, lifting and carrying objects over 50 pounds.
All qualified candidates must be willing and able to maintain, troubleshoot, and update all plant equipment in a fast paced 3 shift operation. This includes machine repairs both mechanical and electrical. The ability to identify and resolve plant equipment issues during production hours and also during non production periods. This job requires a strong electrical background but also the necessity to complete light fabrication, rigging, lifting, and mechanical repairs to all foundry equipment. The individual must be able to complete a preventative maintenance task and review the piece of equipment on a broad level so that there will be no items missed even if they are not included in the preventative maintenance task. A self motivated individual will need to keep his work space neat and organized along with cleaning up after a job is completed. This goes for shop activities and in plant repairs regardless of their location due to environmental requirements of the plant. The applicant must be flexible from crane repair to heat treat and conveyance systems. The candidate must be able to troubleshoot PLC’s, HMI’s, PID, VFD’s, control circuits along with all plant pneumatics, hydraulics, facilities systems, and mechanical equipment.
Required Qualifications

Card Carrying Journeyman Electrician – preferred – not mandatory
2 to 5 years industrial experience
High School Degree or Equivalent

Other Requirements

Shift Flexibility
Ability to work overtime
Overhead crane experience
Ability to follow directions and work with other tradesmen
Strong mechanical aptitude
Read ladder logic and electrical prints
Knowledge of the NEC
Lock-Out Tag-Out Exposure
Computer experience a plus and large moving equipment exposure a plus
