Job Description : Job Title: Elementary TeacherSummary: An Elementary Teacher is trained to educate children kindergarten to sixth grade. They are responsible for the educational and emotional growth of children in a classroom setting, as well as managing the materials and resources used for educating them.Qualifications: Current Class 1 or 2 Montana Educator’s LicenseElementary endorsementPreferred Qualifications: Good classroom management skillsGood communication with parents, students and colleaguesHigh expectations for themselves and studentsKnowledge of curriculum and standardsKnowledge of subject matterPassion for children and teachingStrong rapport with students, building administrator, parents and staffStrong organizational skillsProfessionalismEssential Functions: An Elementary Teacher will:Develop a positive classroom culture and climate.Plan, develop, and prepare courses of study suitable for a particular grade level following curriculum guidelines of District, school and state requirements.Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible.Observe and evaluate students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods.Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students.Assign and grade classwork and homework.Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments in order to evaluate students’ progress, provide feedback and to monitor instruction.Confer with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators in order to resolve students’ behavioral and academic problems.Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children’s progress and to determine their priorities for their children and their resource needs.Consistently maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, District policies, and administrative regulations.Prepare students for future grade levels by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks.Prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring additional help and support.Enforce administration policies and rules governing students.Collaborate with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning, following approved curricula.Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students’ needs and progress.Use technology to enhance instruction and support project based learning.Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials, in order to prevent injuries and damage.Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development.Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and increase professional competence.Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, visits by guest speakers or other experiential activities, and guide students in learning from those activities.Organize and label materials; and display students’ work.Attend staff meetings; and serve on committees as required.Administer standardized ability and achievement tests; and interpret results to determine student strengths and areas of need.Perform administrative duties such as assisting in school libraries, hall, playground and cafeteria monitoring, and bus loading and unloading.Select, store, order, issue, and inventory classroom equipment, materials, and supplies.Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Montana Educator Code of Ethics.Able to collaborate and create academic/behavior plans to collect intervention data.Able to use District data management systems to disseminate data to inform student decisions.Attends to student related health needs.Perform additional duties as assigned.”Work RemotelyNoJob Types: Full-time, ContractPay: $36,169.00 – $59,831.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offParental leaveProfessional development assistanceRetirement planVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftMonday to FridayEducation:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Experience:Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)License/Certification:Teaching Certification (Preferred)Work Location: One location
