Position : Employee Relations Consultant

Job Description : We are searching for an Employee Relations Consultant – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide direction and guidance to all levels at Texas Children’s by analyzing, recommending, assisting in the development of and administering various Human Resources programs, plans, policies, and procedures in a consistent manner; advising both leadership and staff regarding the resolution of various issues/concerns; and coordinating a variety of activities related to fair employment practices, laws, and regulations.

Responsibilities
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Responds to questions ranging from simple to complex regarding employment issues and application of policies
Interprets policies and practices for Texas Children’s employees and leadership, ensuring consistent application of the same within regulatory parameters
Conducts meetings with employees or leadership, obtaining pertinent information, determining the applicability of policies/procedures to the issue at hand, recommending an action plan, and providing follow-up as necessary
Coordinates the Employee Problem Solving (EPS) process and ensures that all steps are followed within established time frames
Conducts investigations for complaints of sexual harassment, discrimination, misconduct, or other allegations completes investigations
Determines and provides an appropriate response to all Texas Workforce Commission claims
Conducts telephone hearings, briefing and preparing other leaders who must testify, and provides sufficient documentation supporting the position of the organization
Maintains and retains complete and accurate files of all TWC claims by fiscal year, according to retention schedules
Reconciles quarterly TWC invoices, ensuring charges are accurate and invoices are paid by the TWC deadline to avoid a penalty
Provides statistical information to regulatory agencies
Collect data for biannual reporting on a monthly basis, ensure accuracy of information gathered, verify employees due for a biennial background, submit finalized report to the vendor to complete background checks, upload results to HRIS
Qualifications
Skills & Requirements
Associate degree
3 years’ experience in Human Resources
Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
