Job Description : Description: The Enrollment and Eligibility Specialist obtains third party coverage for patients (Inpatient/Outpatient) who have no other means of payment. Ensures that all payment/program possibilities are exhausted. This job approves the patient for JPS Connection and other County, State and/or Federal assistance programs and obtains missing registration items as applicable.
Typical Duties:

Interviews clients or authorized representative to gather information while determining eligibility for benefits.
Obtains, verifies, and calculates income and resources to determine client’s financial eligibility.
Explains available benefit programs, rights and responsibilities and other agency services to applicants/recipients and general public.
Conducts timely follow-up on cases and/or accounts which includes making phone calls to applicants/patients to ascertain the potential for eligibility for JPS Connection, other programs, or to obtain missing insurance information or missing registration items.
Approves patients for Charity Care, refers completed cases to Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) for Medicaid and other State or Federal programs, and refer difficult accounts to eligibility team leader and/or management team in accordance with established guidelines

Required Education and Experience: *

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
3 plus years of experience in a registration setting or performing eligibility and enrollment functions.
1 plus years of experience with Federal and State financial assistance programs and third party coverage.
1 plus year of experience using Microsoft Professional Office Suite to include Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
