Job Description : Responsibilities of an epidemiologist in assigned tasks under supervision:
Contribute to/lead the conduct of global database studies, including planning study design, data sources and pharmacoepidemiological methods
Support development of/author scientific documents including protocols, study reports, and other scientific documents to ensure completeness and quality of deliverables within estimated timelines
Review and provide relevant epidemiological input to study documents
Interact as an epidemiological expert with internal and external stakeholders under senior guidance and as per project requirements
Perform critical literature reviews and provide summaries as needed
Co-operate closely with other members in global multi-disciplinary teams, including e.g., senior epidemiologists, project managers, statisticians, and data access experts
Contribute to intra- and interdepartmental process improvement initiatives to achieve operational efficiencies of workflows
Our ideal candidate would have the following:
MPH or MSc or an equivalent degree (PhD preferred) in epidemiology, public health, applied statistics or a closely related scientific discipline, with sound methodological training in epidemiology or related public health area relevant to observational health research
Scientific writing experience in the field of observational healthcare research
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work independently, both under supervision and as a contributing team member
Commitment to working collaboratively and effectively in multi-disciplinary, international teams
Excellent time management skills, contributing to multiple projects with competing timelines, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Fluency in English (spoken and written) and strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent proficiency MS Office
Preferred qualities:
Prior related experience within real-world evidence, such as epidemiology or secondary data studies
Experience in designing and executing observational database studies and exposure to working with large real-world healthcare databases
Clinical experience and understanding of drug therapies
Publications in a peer-reviewed journal and/or abstracts and oral or poster presentations in scientific conferences would be meriting
Experience in serving in a client-facing role, e.g. in a consultancy, contract research organization (CRO), pharmaceutical/biotech company, or healthcare services
Experience and knowledge of developments within the industry and major competitors
