Description

Summary Description: This position coordinates the creating, production, and publishing of a wide range of digital, video, audio, and meeting content for Whataburger’s internal communication and employer branding team. Responsible for content that inspires employees and potential employees using video storytelling, podcasting, microcontent, live webcasting and more. Contributes to the creative thought and strategic vision on identifying and developing rich content to create compelling stories. Collaborates and works closely with other internal communication teams and freelance videography teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborates with content ideation and provides execution input and context for the internal and external campaigns.
Publishes content on a wide array of the brand’s multimedia channels with the goal of communicating the brand’s strategic messaging.
Partners in audits, curates video collateral, and provides recommendations for meeting ADA guidelines.
Coordinates and schedules large-scale shoots and productions (Year-End Awards, Newsroom Series Shoots, etc.). Identifies media trends and new opportunities for production shoots.
Collaborates on department multimedia (photography and video) resources and completes assigned tasks as needed to best communicate brand messages.
Writes, edits, and publishes Whataburger alerts, CCTV (stories, training tips), and scripts/videos in concert with other departments and with the help of the graphic designer. Participates in creative brainstorm sessions with the team.
Responsible for staying on top of industry trends, ensuring the content being produced is current and relevant in both style and substance.
Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Media, Videography, Marketing or related field or equivalent work experience required

EXPERIENCE:

Experience shooting and editing video content
Experience live webcasting or livestreaming for both small and large crowds.
Experience working on communications for media outlets or producing video content for large corporate brands
Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with management, vendors, and co-workers
0+ months experience preferably in Communications, Public Relations or Marketing field

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Visio (as applicable)
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, InDesign, and Illustrator
Proficiency in appropriately identifying design, color, composition, usability and typography
Ability to quickly synthesize business concepts into concise, high-quality communications
Demonstrated ability to recognize stories that align with strategic goals and effectively share and tie the key elements to the strategic goals
Ability to communicate well with the general public
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to work in a high-energy, fast-paced environment with the ability to remain flexible while managing multiple projects
Demonstrated knowledge of leading practices in corporate communications and change management impacts
Ability to accept feedback and incorporate leadership direction that best supports the company’s mission and vision
Basic professional or theoretical knowledge and fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a particular field of specialization in the execution of assigned duties and responsibilities
Basic understanding of budgetary concepts and procedures
Basic understanding of departmental structure and policies with a basic understanding of the cross- functional structure and policies of Whataburger Restaurants LLC
Basic ability to delegate tasks and get work done through others

WORKING CONDITIONS/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Expected to work the necessary time to satisfactorily fulfill job responsibilities
Must be able to report to work timely and as required by operational/business needs
Must be able to work a full-time schedule and work outside of normal business hours when necessary
Must be able to travel occasionally both locally and long distances (including air travel), to worksites, meeting sites, and other locations
Must possess a valid driver’s license, submit to releasing a Motor Vehicle Record that adheres to the Whataburger standards and maintain current automobile liability at minimum levels in their state of residence
