Position : Forklift Operator

Job Description : Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Forklift Operator/Material Handler is responsible for ensuring that product is moved within our warehouse in a safe and efficient manner by forklift operation and physically loading/unloading our trucks. You are also responsible for proper inventory being maintained, and good housekeeping and warehouse standards being upheld.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Safely operate a forklift to move finished products to the warehouse or onto trucks for distribution to customers
Complete pre-trip inspections and maintain energy source for lift
Operate, changeover, clean, troubleshoot, and complete basic maintenance on palletizing equipment
Ensure effective and safe use of warehouse equipment.
Perform safety inspections and audits as required
Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures
Use scanning equipment to ensure accurate tracking of inventory within the facility
Follow standard work policies and procedures
Work as a team with other forklift drivers to prevent line stoppages and improve operations

EXPERIENCE

EXPERIENCE NEEDED1+ years of forklift operation experience in warehouse or inventory environmentsPrior exposure to CPG and/or Food & Beverage industriesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and ExcelDemonstrated decision making and problem-solving skillsAn understanding of computer ordering systems and other IT systemsFluent in English, additional language skills an advantagePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to stand, walk and sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.Regularly lift, move, and place up to 25 pounds of inventory and/or advertising displays as needed.Exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.Responsible for overall safety and safe operation of motor vehicle.Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and proceduresOperate in a warehouse environment.
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
English, additional languages an advantage
