Job Description : Foundry Molder Helper at the Naval Foundry and Propeller Center (Civilian employees of the US Navy, a detachment of Norfolk Naval Shipyard)
Starting Pay*: 22.00/hr – $26.00/hr (WG-05/08)

This position assists in performing routing functions involved in making up charges for various alloys, charges furnaces, operates the controls for proper heating, etc. See more about NFPC at our website:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform work in accordance with standard calculations or formulations, and established procedures.
Visually inspect castings for signs of defects.
Maintains ladles, assist in set-up of foundry furnaces, prepares castings, and mixes cement.
Operates manual grinders, band saws, abrasive cut-off saws and various other tools.
Qualifications Required for the Position
High school education
Basic understanding of metal characteristics (metallurgy), foundry furnaces and mathematics.
Ability to read and interpret metal specifications.
Security Clearance / Background Check required. Your candidacy is subject to approval and acceptance.
Conditions of Employment
Must be a US Citizen.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
