Job Description : Overview
At Free People, the art of storytelling lies central to who we are and what we do. Your contribution as a Copy Assistant will help ensure that our small but mighty copy team can provide our community with everything they need to know about our collection and brand.
The Copy Assistant reports to our head Copywriter.

Qualities
We’re looking for a thoughtful, well-spoken, quick-to-act-and-react candidate who’s as comfortable engaging and collaborating with Home Office teams as working through independent projects. A comprehensive understanding (and love) of Free People is key.

Responsibilities

Write and proofread copy for select categories on freepeople.com’s Product Detail Pages
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to create compelling, cohesive messages that drive the business and connect with our community
Own and execute weekly copy edit requests via Customer Service
Craft copy in support of our sustainability initiatives, Care FP and FP Mart
Special projects as needed

Creative, curious, and willing to identify opportunities to better our team’s productivity
Independent, attentive, self-motivated, and organized

Qualifications

A record of academic, journalistic, and/or creative writing experience (samples required)
Professional experience (internships included) in a relevant field
Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field
Journalistic and creative sensibility for what makes a story authentic and engaging
