Job Description : Overview

Seeking a highly motivated, organized, results-driven PD Coordinator to join the Beauty Product Development Team to support the development lifecycle from concept to launch for Free People and Summary.

Responsibilities

Assists with overall project management of new projects inclusive of but not limited to formula development and testing, packaging development and testing, adhering to tight timelines, placing and managing PO’s, processing project invoices and communicating and coordinating project needs with internal cross-functional partners as well as external labs and manufacturers.
Role is 50% product focused, 25% project management support and 25% operational support.

Product & Packaging Development Support:

Partner with the PD team on developing a robust and innovative product pipeline and 3-year launch calendar for Free People and Summary.
Collaborate on products ideas and feedback. Eagerness to test & evaluate products and samples and give valuable, descriptive feedback on formula aesthetics, efficacy, fragrance, and application.
Research industry trends, brands, ingredients, formula & packaging ideas & recommend benchmarks.
Conduct competitive landscape analysis on key marketing claims, fill, size, price and point of difference to identify white space opportunities.
Present quarterly trend decks in the beauty and wellness space to the PD Team.
Help build “Product Briefs” and “Product Profile” documents that outlines product concept, key messages, star ingredients and product details that are distributed to our cross-functional partners to support launch; marketing, merchandising, buying and store teams.
Assists with packaging development, working closely with our packaging vendors on componentry options both for primary and secondary packaging, request samples, dielines, quotes, deco options and timelines.
Assists with artwork development, drafting copy sheets in partnership with PD Director and working closely with the Copy Team. Works closely with the Graphic Design Team; enters project details into GD portal to kick off the artwork process.
Partners with the following cross-functional teams: Graphic Design, Copy, Planning, Buying, Merchandising, Marketing, Operations & Accounts Payable.

Project Management + Operational Support:

Oversee the master project tracker, logging key information (formula numbers, fragrance ref number, ingredient lists, costing, testing information, key dates, etc.) and tracks key milestones with high level of detail and communication.
Enters and tracks new product PO’s and communicates details to Buying/Planning/Ops.
Process project invoices with AP and apply charges to PO line items that roll up our COGs and margin.
Assist with helping new vendors with the Tradestone registration process in partnership with Vendor relations and help build Bill of Materials when needed.
Maintain and organize project files and project bins, lab samples, benchmarks & production samples. Distribute samples, conduct internal consumer surveys.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
Passion & knowledge in beauty & wellness space
Must be organized, detail oriented, resourceful, and comfortable handling multiple projects in parallel
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
Team player with an entrepreneurial spirit and comfortable wearing many hats
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & Powerpoint and Google-suite tools
