Position : Greeter – Hospital Access – Part Time – Days – Center City

Job Description : PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Hospital Greeters welcome and assist patients, their families and visitors entering the hospital. Greeters answer questions, provide information such as patient floor and room number, utilize internal software to register visitors, and assist with wayfinding by directing people to the hospital location they need, thereby creating a caring and efficient atmosphere.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Cordially greets visitors and patients upon arrival. Ascertains patients and visitors needs and directs them accordingly, including visitor registration.
Coordinates approved visitor lists and confidential/no info patient lists
Provides assistance to patients and visitors by providing assistance with wheelchairs, escorting or transporting people who may need help to their destination, assist with calling a cab, Uber or other ride share option
Contacts Patient Services, Security, Environmental Services, or Facilities Management for assistance when necessary.
Monitors overall appearance of the hospital entrance.
Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the University.
Screens visitors for clinical conditions using standard screening questions

Participates in hospital safety drills and maintains compliance with standard safety knowledge.
Takes responsibility for and participates in continuing education and professional development activities.
Mature, caring and dependable, with good communication skills.
Ambassadors must be able to stand/walk for time of assignment.
Must know how to use a computer to access information.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision, multi-task and relate tactfully to patients, their family, and/or friends, as well as to the staff.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Previous office experience. Greater preference given to individuals with previous medical office or switchboard experience.
Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson’s clinical entities or at the University. If you are not currently vaccinated you will be required to receive the vaccination prior to hire date if you are offered employment, unless you request and receive an approved medical or religious exemption from Jefferson.
