Job Description : Primal Supply Meats is a woman-owned and operated whole animal butchery and local sourcing company committed to providing sustainable, pasture-raised meat to the Philadelphia region. Our daily work involves sourcing, logistics, processing, packaging, fulfillment and sales. We care greatly for our network of producers, processors, customers and above all, our product. POSITION: Picker/Packer
Primal Supply Meats is hiring a Picker/Packer to facilitate and fulfill online and subscription order packing at our Brewerytown headquarters. The Picker/Packer will pick and pack web orders for online customers Tuesday-Friday beginning at 10AM. This role is of the highest importance as they are the last set of eyes and hands on our product before it leaves Primal HQ and reaches our customers.
As a member of the Primal team, you will care for our product, maintain organization and uphold food safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate must have a customer-first mentality, be highly organized, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. A positive attitude and solid communication skills are necessary. 100% commitment to customer service and sustaining product standards are required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Pick, assemble, and label fresh and frozen customer orders in a thoughtful and timely manner
Organize and prepare all daily orders for delivery and/or pick-up
Maintain ongoing organization and weekly reconciliation of freezer inventory
Participate in staff meetings and trainings, as needed
Understand policies and practices that are relevant to our mission and be able to articulate these as a representative of our business

REQUIREMENTS:

Previous experience in grocery, packing + fulfillment and/or warehouse management preferred
Able to stand walk in for extended periods in a cold environment for packing, and able to lift 50+ pounds from the ground
Computer savvy – Proficiency in Google Suite (docs and sheets) and Slack a plus
Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask
Ability to work efficiently, both independently and as part of a team to ensure timely and organized workflow
Fast learner with a strong work ethic and the ability to hustle
Proactive with communication and able to effectively maintain positive working relationships with co-workers
Commitment to local food and sustainable meat production
Cooking experience and food knowledge (may be professional or personal) is a bonus

HOURS AND COMPENSATION
This position is currently part-time Tuesday-Friday (approximately 30 hours per week) with an hourly wage of $15-17. It is based at 1521 N 31st Street 19121. The ideal candidate will have some schedule flexibility, as some days will end earlier or later than scheduled.
*Please understand that as a food company, the holidays are a busy time of year, therefore time-off may be limited during these crucial times.
