The City of Surprise Neighborhood Services is looking for its next dynamic team member to further enhance affordable housing and community programs. If you are passionate about working with a diverse population, being innovative, and creating affordable housing opportunities, Neighborhood Services is looking for you.
The Neighborhood Services Housing Programs Coordinator guides Surprise homeowners through the process of making necessary repairs to their homes, monitors housing program partners for compliance, and provides excellent project management for housing and community development projects . A successful Housing Programs Coordinator provides innovative community outreach, outstanding resident support, and stays informed on the changing needs of the community.
SUMMARY
Incumbents work within the Neighborhood Services Division and are responsible for performing technical work to meet the housing program needs of the City of Surprise Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME) and Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP). The Housing Programs Coordinator will perform all aspects of project management, including planning, coordinating, organizing and administering community housing projects. The position is funded with Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds received from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or G.E.D., and three years of experience in contract administration/procurement, administration of housing programs or a closely related area. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.

Experience with federally funded residential rehabilitation projects preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have at time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona driver license.
