Job Description : Overview
The Human Resources Manager for Fulfillment Operations is an intermediate level Human Resource position responsible for, in partnership the with the Fulfillment Operations Team, focusing on bottom-line results through the development and execution of key fulfillment initiatives, to include staffing/talent acquisition, training & development, performance & productivity, associate relations, benefits and safety. This is an operationally focused HR role that will provide progressive HR support in implementing HR initiatives across fulfillment and customer service center operations in multiple locations. The HR Manager will provide HR partnership to fulfillment and customer service center managers, with a direct line to the Director of Fulfillment Operations. This position reports to the company’s VP of HR. This position requires a high degree of discretion, good judgment and tact. The HR Manager is an advocate for the Associate as well as Cavender’s, creating a highly differentiated working environment, excitement for one’s work and the growth of the individual as well as the company. The ability to develop and implement change is required. This role has a strong focus on customer experience, professionalism, a constructive growth of the company.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Support the “Cavender’s Culture” and drive our Mission, Vision, and Values
· Serve as a key partner and support resource to the fulfillment operations, customer service center and the company
· Create a roadmap for the Fulfillment Team to be positioned to meet current and future needs of the organization
· Lead the full life cycle recruitment efforts, to include: job description creation, candidate sourcing, screening and interviewing, offer presentation and negotiations, onboarding, I9’s, and orientation
· Assist hiring managers and candidates through the hiring process, ensuring laws, regulations, and best practices are followed as we strive to place the best available talent in every role
· Build processes, tools, collateral materials and presentations to support HR initiatives and roll-outs with a specific focus toward operational needs
· Deliver on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that help the department reach its business goals
· Administer and ensure that all HRIS, Applicant Tracking Systems, and general office management needs are met
· Administer and ensure that all payroll, compensation and benefits plans adhere to IRS, ERISA, FLSA, and other regulatory requirements
· Participate, develop, maintain, train, and communicate company policies and procedures ensuring adherence to legal, safety, regulatory, and best practice requirements through SOPs, associate handbook, facility postings, and communication programs
· Take lead in matters of Fulfillment Operations Safety, to include reporting, inspections, committee formation and oversight, and future planning with Safety in mind
· Lead departmental design (e.g. headcount cost planning and organizational restructuring)
· Support the retention of talent by addressing Associate issues quickly and with well-designed initiatives
· Responsible for training and educating managers on disciplinary best practices as it relates to performance review processes and required Associate documentation
· Provide consultation, tools and resources to leadership that facilitates individual/team career development through performance management, talent assessment, succession planning, individual development plans, as well as on-going feedback and analysis
· Maintain and provide insight to succession planning, talent pipelines and pools, staffing of key positions
· Drive the Performance Management Process to include: objective/expectation setting, performance management and feedback, professional development and succession planning
· Ensure that all compensation plans are consistently administered and delivered
· Serve as a primary resource for leadership’s associate questions and concerns. Provide guidance and consultation, bringing in the appropriate partners as needed to achieve resolution
· Drive communications and provide ongoing support during the implementation of change management and cultural transformation initiatives
· Research, adapt and promote best-in-class practices, foster collaboration across functions, ensure smooth implementations of HR solutions and build the overall capability of the team
Qualifications and Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in HR or equivalent experience
· 2+ years of recruiting and staffing experience
· 2+ years of general HR experience
· 2+ years of experience in geographically distributed, multi-site organization highly desirable
· Ability to handle confidential matters with maximum discretion
· Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
· Flexible during times of change
· Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
· Must be hands-on and capable of working independently or in teams
· Ability to interpret documents and comprehend complex issues and produce solutions
· Based in East Texas
· Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Preferred Skills
· SHRM or HRCI certification is preferred
· Master’s level degree in related field is favorable
· Demonstrated progressive success in HR, in a fast-paced, retail focused environment
· Ability to analyze and present information to the Leadership Team that demonstrates business acumen that links HR solutions with the execution of the business strategy
· Must be hands-on and capable of independently producing work (I.e. create job descriptions, recognition and benefits communications, reporting tools, organizational charts, etc.)
· Strong project management skills
· Direct people support, recruitment, talent development and associate relations experience
· Ability to transform strategy and vision into actionable plans
