Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the general direction of the Director of Human Resources, the HR Generalist will be responsible for providing day to day Human Resources support, with an initial focus on recruiting and HRIS implementation needs. The HR Generalist position requires an ability to be a self-starter and work competently in the following HR functions: recruitment & staffing, onboarding, payroll, and answering questions about company benefits or policies.

Assist in recruitment efforts by partnering with the Senior HR Generalist and the management team to discuss personnel needs, create job postings, identify recruitment channels, advertise open positions, draft offer letters, and manage pre-employment processes.
Support the implementation of a new HRIS, which may require system training, data entry, or working with the HR team to developing workflows, design HR processes for new system requirements, etc.
Respond to HR questions with timely follow-up, and proactively interact with employees and the management team
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Work with managers to provide disciplinary and coaching support, compliance and policy guidance, and options to resolve HR-related concerns
Participate in employee counseling and termination meetings with proper documentation
Skillfully navigate the HRIS, pull reports, analyze data, and recommend a course of action
Support the HR team and other corporate groups to achieve company goals, projects, and deliverables
Collaborate to develop new processes, programs, and policies
Assist with responding to unemployment/workers comp/wage claims and participate in hearings when needed
Maintain employee physical & digital personnel files
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Effectively manage multiple competing deadlines and communicate accordingly
Willing and able to take on challenging projects and developmental opportunities
Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or relevant field of study is highly desired, however a High School Diploma plus 8 years of experience will be considered in lieu of the degree
Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience
Current PHR or SHRM-CP credentials highly desired
Ability to work with minimal guidance, a proactive individual who can identify opportunities for process improvements, program enhancements, etc
Ability to prioritize tasks
Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy, and follows up with stakeholders in a timely manner
Capable of maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism in difficult situations
Understanding of HR best practices, employee benefits, and state and federal employment laws
Excellent computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office and HR Systems
HR experience with a multi-state or oilfield services company preferred

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
Able to travel to business locations as needed, approximately 10% of the time

This is a full-time exempt position. The HR Generalist reports in-person to the office and is scheduled Monday through Friday, with occasional work during the evening or weekend.
