Position : Information Security Analyst

Job Description : Job Summary: The purpose of this role is to contribute with the evaluation, integration, and deployment of information and data security technology tools and policies across all infrastructure and enterprise system components. The Information Security Analyst assists with implementing information security policies for various processes, ensuring the successful application of policy to the infrastructure to assist with internal and external audits to certify ongoing compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.Key Responsibilities:

The Information Security Analyst supports and validates effective integration of IT Systems and services in accordance with security policies, regulatory compliance guidelines, and information protection strategies.
The Information Security Analyst assists with periodic audits of the environment to ensure that all approved changes have been implemented according to internal policies.
Validates best practices and adherence to current Firstmark Cybersecurity policies.
Routinely scans and detects any form of a cybersecurity vulnerability within the enterprise and provides active notification of threats to the Cybersecurity Administrator.
Ensures the credit union’s data is protected from unauthorized access.
When necessary, assists with preparing security incident reports based on intrusions, events, and detected incidents. Will also assist with network investigations that may include outside vendors.
Assess required changes to regulatory requirements and standards to determine the impact on internal IT policies, controls, and processes; makes recommendations for associated changes to IT policies, controls, and procedures and validate the implementation.
Aid with information security and vendor risk assessments.
Identifying business and technology risks, internal controls that mitigate risks, and related opportunities for internal control improvements.
Monitors compliance with information security policies and procedures, referring problems to the appropriate department manager.
Updates information security documentation and ensures existing security documentation is current.
Continuously monitors efforts for security controls to ensure controls are operating as intended.
Evaluate new technologies and vendors for the cybersecurity program.
Participates in the review, implementation, and adherence to the organizational architecture.
Validates firewalls, rules, vulnerability scanning tools, and methods.
Ensures Information Security training documentation consistency across all departments.
Performs other duties as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

High school diploma, required. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology preferred.
Certification required – CompTIA Security + CE, or GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), (or the ability to attain within 6 months of start date).
At least 1 year experience or relevant experience in Security Analyst, required. At least 2 years in Information Technology field, preferred.
Familiarity with the latest information technology (IT) security trends and security standards.
Awareness of the rules and regulations related to information security and data confidentiality (e.g., NCUA, FERPA, HIPAA, FFIEC), required.
Working knowledge of the Internet and network security technologies such as TCP/IP, firewalls, Web Proxy, VPN, Encryption technologies, server configuration, and application security, required.
Have high-level knowledge of network security principles for risk identification and analysis of desktops, virtualization, mobile, tablets, servers, applications, and databases.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written, verbal, customer relations, and organizational skills
Requires some weekend and evening assignments and availability during off-hours for participation in scheduled and unscheduled activities.
Prior experience working within a financial service organization, preferred.
