Job Description : Position Summary:
The Inventory Control Technician is responsible for ordering parts and creating purchase orders in the Oracle Database. The Inventory Control Technician is responsible for buying maintenance items and other items purchased for Metal Prep, such as accessories, shipping supplies, janitorial supplies, etc.
The Inventory Control Technician is also responsible for maintaining the maintenance inventory system, handling shortages and claims, expediting, data input, pricing research, and forecasting usage. Inventory duties, includingcommunication with production department to maintain inventory levels. The Inventory Control Technician is also responsible for picking up items from vendors when necessary. Loading/unloading goods using a forklift and conveying parts to the appropriate parties. Process invoices for payment and resolve any purchase order related issues. Inventory relief in Oracle for paint usage. The Inventory Control Technician will complete monthly inventory counts for environmental reporting. Purchasing of appropriate supplies and equipment as needed to maintain safety and environmental compliance. Obtain required SDS forms for purchased products. Spill clean-up assistance if needed. New vendor initiation through corporate accounting. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Experience:

1 year purchasing and/or warehousing/inventory control preferred. Intermediate computer skills desired.

Minimum Required Education / Skills:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
Communication skills.
Good driving record.
Excellent organizational and record keeping skills.

Equipment/ Tools Used:

Telephone, computer, calculator, files, records, Metal Prep computer system, fax machine, company truck, forklift, Metal Prep Approved Vendor List, Vendor Corrective Action forms.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
