Job Description : OVERVIEW
Street-Works Development is seeking an Junior Urban Planner in our Philadelphia, PAoffice. Strong attention to detail and professionalism are required as this position is responsible for support and interaction with all levels of the organization.
The Junior Urban Planner has at least 2 years’ previous experience in an architecture/planning/design role and must have strong interpersonal skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and present creative urban design concepts.
Execute design directions, manage the design process, and induce design innovation.
Effectively inspire the greater project team through ideas, designs, and quality mindset.
Meet with senior project staff to identify project needs and design presentations to support objectives and maintain the creative objectives of the Project
Provide design input, strategy and support.

QUALIFICATIONS * 2+ years’ experience defining and driving the design process and direction.

Proven experience in generating creative ideas and concepts.
Strong design portfolio packed with expertise in all things digital. Excellent hand drawing skills a plus.
Expert skills with design software used in the design process, including Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD and SketchUp.
Strong communication skills and writing ability.
Good organizational skills and a pro-active, friendly manner.
Position requires the ability to read and write English fluently.

EDUCATION * A College degree is required. An advanced degree in Architecture and/or Urban Design a plus.ATTENDANCE / TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
The position requires the ability to work five days of the week, usually 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, but flexible if overtime is required. Minimal or no travel is required. Our office is walking distance from the Port Chester, NY Metro North Train Station (New Haven Line).
COMPUTER SKILLS
Excellent MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
Adobe Acrobat experience is required.
Adobe Creative Suite experience is required.
Understanding of project management software (basecamp) is preferred, but not required. Understanding of common social media platforms is preferred, but not required.
