Position : K-12 Math Teacher
Job Description : If you have a warm and friendly demeanor with a passion for coaching struggling readers to improve, then The Reading Connection is for you.
Part Time opportunities for Math Specialists/Educators with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or 5+ years classroom experience (candidates without a masters degree will be supervised and cannot work with reading therapy clients) to work with small groups or individual children. Create and implement lesson plans based on students’ needs. The Reading Specialist must possess a love for reading and learners of all types. Flexibility is a given. Specifically, you will be meeting with scheduled Intervention groups/individuals weekly or biweekly.
Duties include:
· Must be able to instruct students of all ages, abilities and behaviors· Must be able to draw information from assessment reports and create effective and individualized lesson plans· Must be able to make instructional decisions based on the student’s progress, regular running record data and other qualitative assessment data.· Must be able to implement ongoing reading assessment· Ability to create lesson plans using data from assessment report· Prior experience reading educational reports and writing student specific interventions· Flexible hours depending on when sessions are scheduled; specialists will see the same client at the same scheduled time each week· Excellent writing skills· Computer knowledge: Microsoft email, excel, word, zoom, google calendar,· Interpersonal skills
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Math or other comparable Bachelor’s level credential (preferred)· Computer knowledge/skills required.· Familiarity with math educational and psychological evaluations using normed instruments (percentiles, standard scores, basic statistics)
· Prior experience working with and teaching children and/or adults.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 – $48.00 per hour
