Job Description : PLEASE NOTE: This announcement is open until enough resumes are received.
GTO consultants will be leaders in the development and sustainment of continuous improvement culture for the State of Arizona. They serve as subject matter experts and implementation partners. This is a primarily remote position. Some in-state travel to support agency customers and the GTO team may be required.

Job Duties:

Mentor, train, and coach teams on continuous improvement and lean practices
Coach and facilitate problem solving for agency breakthrough projects
Support and coach teams in problem solving for cross agency initiatives
Participate in critical strategic initiatives for GTO
Contribute to material development for the GTO Content Library
Facilitate remote and in person activities including “train-the-trainer” Kaizen events and projects with cross-functional teams
Participate in GTO-led statewide training events
Build and manage relationships with agency directors and senior operations managers to assist each agency with identifying opportunities for improvement and executing to close performance gaps
Contribute to GTO team development to foster a high performing team
Support the implementation, maturity, and sustainability of the Arizona Management System (AMS) within a variety of state agencies and environments

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Proven ability to lead change; at least 2 years of experience with continuous improvement processes
Experience facilitating Kaizen events and leading projects while balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders
Experience implementing process improvement and management frameworks in various settings
Experience developing visual systems to support process adherence and performance management
Experience with training delivery, change management, and coaching employees
Strong program and project management skills and excellent organizational skills
Strong relationship building, program and project management and organizational skills
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Ability to thrive in a challenging work environment, consistently delivering quality service to agencies in order to serve citizens effectively and efficiently
Ability to prioritize, communicate project risk to key leaders, and function under minimal supervision
Promote team development and encourage collaboration across large government environments
Personal adherence to leader standard work
Comfortable working in a remote work environment and various in-person locations as needed
Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities in daily work
Able to influence and guide teams in a non-authoritative role
Collaborative team player with strong communication skills
Promote and contribute to effective team development
Open to learning new tools and methods

Selective Preference(s):

Experience working in continuous improvement within government
5+ years of professional experience in multiple functional areas of a business
A Graduate degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a closely related field of study from an accredited college or university

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Note: Driving Requirement: In-state travel may be required. An acceptable driving record for the last 39 months is required including no DUI, suspensions or revocations and less than 8 points on your license. A copy of your MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) is required at the time of your interview, if an Out of State Driver License was held within the last 39 months. Employees who drive on state business must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.). Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.
