Position : Legal Clerk

Job Description : SUMMARY OF POSITION: Data entry of applications for legal services, assist with client with legal needs, provides support to the department
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide support to staff attorneys
· Perform general secretarial and administrative duties
· Data entry of application for legal services
· Conduct initial client screening interview for legal issues and client program eligibility
· Provide basic information and referrals to applicants, including those ineligible for services under director’s guidance and supervision
· Maintain accurate and complete client files and administrative records, including data entry into client database and other requirements such as timekeeping
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Other duties, as required
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
· Associates degree or bachelor’s degree (preferred)
· 1-3 years of paralegal or secretarial experience with a focus primarily in family law and other related areas (preferred)
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and ProDoc and general computer applications
· Excellent planning, organizational and communication skills required for a multi-tasked environment.
· Bilingual in English & Spanish (preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $33,000.00 – $38,000.00 per year
