Introduction:
The Legal Matter Controller role will be responsible for providing operational support to the Legal Function. This will mean being the point contract for all procure to pay information. This role will include actively requesting, managing purchase orders (POs) and ensuring that invoices are paid promptly.
What will you be doing?
Manage creation of legal POs, amendments and closure throughout the matter lifecycleManage the end to end process and any resulting queries from both internal teams and external vendorsOversee invoice processing to ensure PO utilisation is up to date and PO balance is reflective of committed work.Track PO adjustmentsContribute to the management and escalation of risks and issuesAccountability over pockets of the legal spend portfolio (e.g. major matters, practice areas etcControl and substantiate positions aligning to balance sheet position, outlooks, accruals and planning cycleEnsure key reporting is delivered accurately with good quality commentary
What we’re looking for:
Graduate with experience of working with financial and budget informationPreferred working experience of Procurement Applications and SystemsStrong analytical skills and ability to consider wider objectivesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelTakes ownership and sees matters to completion through effective prioritisation and a commitment to teamwork
