Job Description : JOB SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of the Logistics Manager is to oversee and manage the logistics department. This includes managing supporting team members by providing direction and support to ensure successful packouts and transportation of supplies to allow for onsite event execution. The logistics department includes overall warehouse operations, the AFE rental business, vehicle fleet system, and AFE equipment. The Logistics Manager will report to the Director of Operations.
RESPONSIBILILITES

Play a key role in hiring qualified personnel along with Human Resources
Train all team members
Provide each employee with full cross training of all departmental tasks
Ensure operations and event success by improving and advancing training program
Prepare personnel weekly schedules to include being available for on call shifts and questions, late evening issues and weekend work, including any hourly staff brought in for event packout assistance
Manage labor costs through daily payroll audits and day-to-day management of staff
Pinpoint, address, and if necessary, bring personnel issues to Human Resources attention
Cultivate a superior team of employees through coaching and mentorship, that fosters a work environment that encourages leadership and empowerment
Utilize the appropriate software and employees to effectively accomplish daily tasks, department projects, and event needs
Develop and enforce proper opening operation and closing procedures of the warehouse to ensure a secure facility
Maintain and manage safety and organizational standards in the warehouse
Work with operations for cross departmental changes or updates to processes
Create and maintain standards for asset maintenance (protecting the investment) of warehouse inventories including proper storage and transit of items
Establish a system of routine physical inventory of hard goods (per party and monthly)
Communication and constant analyzation of policies and processes along with the Director of Operations
Identify tools and equipment to improve efficiencies in the department
Department profit and loss tracking and review with management
Attend weekly production meetings for AFE and The Revaire
Attend bi-weekly meetings with management to discuss department status
Ensure all moving parts are complete for event packouts
Oversee packouts while allowing team to perform independently

RENTALS

Supervise loading and unloading of event vehicles to keep an organized structure
Oversee Rental Logistics Coordinator in processing of rental tickets in TapGoods, pulling rentals, delivering orders, and dish room management
Assist Rental Logistics Coordinator in preparing route system for all offsite delivery orders
Forecast rentals items necessary to accomplish upcoming events, bringing attention to additional purchases needed
Purchase replacement inventory when necessary
Reconcile new, damaged, or broken inventory within TapGoods, updating operations for Caterease numbers as well
Establish rental goals and focus on achievement and analyzation of desired outcome
Establish and manage rental vendor relationships and work to build effective partnerships

EQUIPMENT

Generate and adjust equipment packing list to pass off to equipment packers
Develop new packing and care procedures to accommodate for additional and fragile equipment pieces added to inventory
Stay on trend with buffet equipment looks while maintaining the functionality of the pieces from a food perspective
Negotiate best purchase prices for new equipment
Ensure adequate AFE equipment inventory on busier event days or schedule the pieces to be flipped in sufficient time
Monitor quality of AFE equipment and determine when pieces need to be removed from inventory and stopped being sent to events

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Required 2+ years of experience in the catering and/or event planning industry
Experience in warehouse operations preferred
Passionate about customer service and the event planning industry
Excels in a fast-paced work environment
Strong organizational skills
Adept in computer programs
Detail oriented
Flexible and able to solve problems on the fly
Collaborative worker who trusts the expertise of fellow departments
Manages time, projects, and deadlines efficiently and independently
Direct and intuitive communication skills
Effective in presenting and sharing information

DESCRIPTION OF PACKAGE

This is an hourly paid position
Nights and weekend work required based on event schedule
Rate and benefits will be discussed with each candidate during the interview process

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 – $33.00 per hour
Schedule:

8 hour shift
Monday to Friday
On call
Weekend availability

Work Location: One location
