Job Description : OverviewPlans and implements all aspects of the traffic function. Provides cost effective and traceable movement of company products both inbound and outbound. Develops, implements, and maintains polices and systems relating to monitoring costs and efficiencies in the department. Analyzes and recommends transportation and freight costs, appropriate routing, and carriers to be used. Ensures the lowest cost transportation is used to satisfy both customer and company needs. Contacts vendors, customers, carriers, etc. to coordinate any problems such as misdirected and/or damaged goods. May coordinate the handling of import and export requirements. May be responsible for bigger projects or more vital inventory of traffic of products. Complexity of work may be greater due to the amount of traffic or location of traffic. May also have greater management responsibility within the department. Handles special projects as assigned.Essential Functions:

Planning and managing logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services
Directing, optimizing, and coordinating full order cycle
Liaising, and negotiating with suppliers, manufacturers
Keeping track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
Arrange warehouse, catalog goods, plan routes and process shipments
Resolve any arising problems or complaints
Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets
Maintains metric and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
Comply with laws, regulations, and ISO requirements

Education & Experience Requirements
High School Diploma; Bachelors Degree or equivalent preferred.
10 years related experience.
Strong knowledgeable on all aspects of Transportation/Distribution methods and procedures. Good communication skills. Demonstrated computer skills. Thorough and comprehensive knowledge of air and ocean transportation industry including various modes, major carriers, rate structures and routes. Excellent negotiation skills. Thorough and comprehensive knowledge of shipping regulations and maritime issues, including transportation of hazardous materials. Basic understanding of Oracle systems. Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental regulatory requirements. Expertise in Transportation regulatory matters and terms used in international commerce and trade. Expertise in import and export compliance.
