Maintenance Technician/Mechanic Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Tech is responsible for maintaining and repairing the HPP machines, as well as some facility/building maintenance. The maintenance tech is responsible for facility maintenance to include troubleshooting, adjusting, and replacing all electrical equipment, repair and maintain facility equipment, inspecting, troubleshoot, repairing or replacing mechanical components, perform preventative maintenance inspections of plant equipment, and welding equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot, adjust and replace AC and DC electrical equipment such as controls, proximity sensors, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches and timers.
Repair and maintain high-pressure pasteurization equipment
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair, and or replace mechanical components such as motors, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings and transfer plates.
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and or replace hydraulic systems such as pumps, motors, and actuators.
Welding equipment such as frames, conveyors, package handling equipment, carts, and Guards.
Adhere to the facility’s document control polity following completion of training.
Adherence to the company’s Lockout/Tagout Policy and Program.

Performance Standards:

Ability to prioritize and perform responsibilities accurately and to deadline.
Must have flexibility with work schedule and job duties when the location environment changes.
Must have basic mathematical capabilities
Must be able to communicate in English (speak, read, and write)
Must have legible and readable handwriting.

Job Factors:

Work Environment – This job operates in a wet and cold environment located within a food processing facility.
This role routinely performs work duties in a standing position
Physical Demands – This is largely a static role withstanding, however, the ability to perform bending and standing is required.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis.

Experience Required:

AAS Degree in Electronics, Electromechanical, or related field of study preferred.
1 Year previous experience in refrigeration preferred.
