This job is a member of the Labor Relations Team within the Corporate Affairs Division.
Responsible for maintaining working partnerships with operational areas, which have organized work groups for the purpose of negotiating, implementing, maintaining, and administering collective bargaining agreements.
What you’ll do
Provide prompt and effective support on labor-related issues to management within multiple corporate departments
Manage disputes and negotiate resolutions between union representatives and management
Negotiate new work rules for organized employee groups
Manage the administration and interpretation of labor agreements for assigned work group
Provide support for grievance handling up to and including arbitration
Develop and maintain responsible relationships with labor organizations representing assigned work group
Travel as needed to build and maintain relationships with the operational teams and to investigate and adjudicate grievances
All you’ll need for success
Minimum Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, or related field or equivalent experience/training
5 years experience in HR, Labor Relations, or operational management of unionized employees
2 years in a supervisory/management position
Experience or formal training in early dispute resolution strategy
Preferred Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience
Previous contract administration and negotiation experience
Advanced degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, or related field or Human Resources certification
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels
Ability to quickly respond to change and communicate new directions to client groups
