EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

CERTIFICATION :

Forklift Certification – Must be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire date

High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.

OTHER INFORMATION:

Night Shift (12pm-9pm) with pay differential also available

PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY
:
Facilitate the receiving, stocking, delivery and retrieval of multiple items necessary to provide quality public education; and to maintain a clean and safe educational environment at District campuses

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for receiving stock, verifying stock quantities and stock condition.
2. Packages, labels, and routes stock items to assigned warehouse storage locations.
3. Pulls orders for delivery to schools and departments.
4. Inputs warehouse transactions in District’s automated Lawson/Infor inventory system.
5. Rotates existing stock to support a First In/First Out (FIFO) stock picking schedule.
6. Conducts periodic cycle counts on inventory classes to maintain inventory accuracy.
7. Assists with pickup and delivery of instructional materials from/to identified campuses.
8. Operates warehouse vehicles for delivery of General Warehouse items and pickup and transfer of salvageable and disposable property items and textbooks.
9. Identifies and prepares property items for disposal through surplus property store, on-line auctions and live auctions.
10. Destroys and records destruction of obsolete computer hard drives.
11. Operates in-house commercial shredder for legal destruction of District documents.
12. Assists with annual warehouse inventory.
13. Operates material handling equipment including forklifts, electric pallet jacks, manual pallet jacks and hand dollies to load and unload warehouse items.
14. Assists with delivery of District tests in conjunction with Document Management and Testing Departments.
15. Maintains a clean, neat and orderly warehouse facility.
16. Cross training to cover all job duties as assigned at the Operations Warehouse.
17. Maintains confidentiality of information.
18. Reports to work on time every day.
19. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination to include vision, hearing, alcohol and drug testing
Knowledge of automated or computerized system operation
Knowledge of record keeping practices
Knowledge of safety practices
Skill in lifting heavy packages and objects
Skill in operating forklift or other materials handling equipment
Skill in operating large vehicles in tight and congested areas
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to operate and maintain material handling equipment including but not limited to forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies and hydraulic lift gates
Ability to position and correctly use dock levelers
Ability to recognize and use various hand tools
Valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and a driving record that meets the requirements of the District. (Must be obtained within six (6) months of hire date)
