Position : Medical Promotional Reviewer

Job Description : Alcon is looking for a Medical Promotional Reviewer to execute the North America Medical strategy through medical review for assigned products in Alcon’s therapeutic domains. Responsible for the Medical and scientific accuracy and appropriateness of content and claims in the promotional materials, including clinical information, scientific data accuracy, and bio-statistical validity

The position includes significant cross-functional engagement with regional marketing, regulatory, legal and compliance.

Provide the medical review of promotional and advertising materials in accordance with approved labeling and compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards that support effective and safe use of Alcon products by patients and the medical community
Provide medical review addressing the scientific accuracy, clinical information, and bio-statistical validity of promotional materials
Provide medical review and collaborative input to concept/draft advertising and promotional materials
Remain current with medical literature and clinical practices in assigned therapeutic areas
Provide accurate and consistent medical review of advertising and promotional materials on time and minimize review cycles for material approval
Work with cross-functional team supporting review of advertising and promotional materials and with Medical Director in assigned therapeutic areas to optimize effectiveness and mitigate risk of promotional claims

EDUCATION:
Advanced degree in life sciences or medical specialty (OD preferred; MD – ophthalmologist preferred; PhD preferred)
Minimum: technical/scientific BS/MS degree in the clinical/life sciences with extensive knowledge in ophthalmic therapeutic areas

EXPERIENCE:
>2 years of experience in a combination of academic or medical device industry experience; >2 years of experience in providing medical review of promotional and advertising materials preferred

Strong understanding of and commitment to compliance including knowledge of ICH, GCP, local and regional guidelines and regulations on interactions with HCPs, and other ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry.
Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix leadership environment
Analytical skills and ability to interpret scientific data correctly
Strong collaboration and communication skills

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
