Job Description : Description:
The overall purpose of the Medical Records Specialist position is to establish and maintain organized medical records and files, according to acceptable policies and procedures that include OBRA guidelines and California state standards. At times, this position may provide clinical and administrative support to the nursing department.
Maintains established medical record files in accordance with company policies and procedures as well as federal and state-specific regulations. Electronically upload patient information into EMR computer system. Establishes and maintains inventory of forms, tabs, binders and supplies. Prepares reports and submits to of Nursing. Prepares any correspondence for medical records, and obtains records for continuity of care. Enters coordination notes into the clinical software system. Assist with scheduling patients and coordinating care with staff and patients as needed Prints Patient’s medical record as needed. Assist with physician orders for signature and ensures timely delivery and return. Participates in office staff meetings as needed. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned. . Requirements:
Qualifications: High school graduate (or equivalent). Accurate typing skills of 40 wpm or more are needed. Minimum of one-year experience in medical records is preferred. Computer literacy is mandatory. Ability to read, speak, and write the English language.
Monday to Friday Weekend availability
